Image's organizing charter had two key provisions: Image would not own any creator's work; the creator would. But the goal here is still to keep it short (probably not longer than 300 words for a four- or five-issue series). They are differentiated from other signed books by a certificate of authenticity, and they are embossed with a Valiant V. Being first counts for a lot, but it's going the distance that elevates Superman from the run of flying caped superguys who followed him. Then you might want to look into getting physical comics.

However, the second one will be a lot better. If digital comics were, say, 99¢ instead of $2.99, I would buy many many more comics. For example, Quality Comics’ entire output until 1955 is in the public domain because the owner went out of business and didn’t bother to renew it. That said, digital collections sometimes cost less than their paper counterparts. Now, you can find some of this information on the Grand Comics Database on the Internet.
